Bahrain regime targets political activism, democratic transition is the only solution

Al Wefaq National Islamic Society issued a statement today regarding a prosecution session held at the Superior Administrative Court on 2nd September 2014 without informing Al Wefaq in a serious escalation aiming to halt political activism and expand the totalitarian rule. The statement said:

We have tried to communicate with the Ministry of Justice but the latter is insisting to resort to the judiciary in contradiction to professional norms in such cases. It is clear that the Ministry is aiming to suspend Al Wefaq’s work. The Ministry did not use its authorities according to legal principals in a professional manner.

This political targeting is meant to end any attempts for political solution. This is also considered a message to the people of Bahrain and international community and associations that the regime has chosen to maintain the tyrannical rule and violations of human rights by wiping out dissent.

Al Wefaq will remain persistent to its peaceful struggle for democratic transition. Al Wefaq stresses that the political crisis in Bahrain needs real negotiations between the two sides of conflict to reach a solution.
