Iranians condemned Israeli Aggression

Rasa News Agency reports – A number of sources of emulation, scholars and clerics have participated in the holy city of Qom’s al-Quds Day demonstration along with tens of thousands of people, where they condemned Zionist crimes and announced their support for the Palestinian people.

This year is especially eventful due to the ongoing bombings, massacres and the genocide occurring in the Gaza Strip by the Israel army. Women, children and the elderly in Gaza are being attacked from the land, air and sea attacks by the brutal and criminal Zionist regime and the tragic numbers of those being martyred is increasing every day.

International al-Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadhan that was initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran, due to the wisdom of Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, in 1979 to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and oppose Zionism as well as Israel’s occupation of Jerusalem (al-Quds). It is the day of the resistance of the free world against the power of the global arrogance, tyranny and oppression of the Palestinian people by the brutal and aggressive Israeli army.

Despite fasting in the intense Qom heat, the religious and revolutionary people of Qom began their rally at Shahid Motahhari Square at 11 am and marched to the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’soumah (A). The demonstrators condemned the violent acts of aggression being carried out by the animalistic, blood-stained and disgraced Zionist leaders, who are being supported by many international powers, organizations and so-called human rights groups.

The people of Qom, together with many foreign seminarians and scholars, marched while shouting revolutionary slogans such as “God is the greatest,” “Down with Israel,” “Down with America!” and “woe unto the wretched!” Many carried banners containing quotes from Imam Khomeini and the Imam Khamenei regarding al-Quds Day. A 300-metre long Palestinian flag was also carried by the revolutionary people along the route. The Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (RA) and the Red Crescent collected donations along the route for their special fund to help the oppressed people of Gaza. Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Ebrahim Raeisi, Iran’s Deputy Judiciary Chief, spoke at the end of the al-Quds Day rally.

Grand Ayatollahs Naser Makarem-Shirazi, Mortaza Moqtadaei, Sayyed Mohammad-Reza Modaressi-Yazdi, Abbas Ka’bi, Mohammad-Javad Fazel-Lankarani, Mahdi Hadavi-Tehrani Hashem Hoseyni-Bushehri, Ebrahim Amini and Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani were among the sources of emulation who participated in the rally.

Ayatollahs Makarem Shirazi and Nouri-Hamadani gave brief interviews to reporters on the sidelines of the rally, where they condemned the crimes of the Zionists and said that the only way to save the Palestinian nation was the unity of the international Muslim community and resistance.
