Pakistan: Shia genocide not sectarian issue but ferocious takfiri terrorists, 160 Shia killed in one year

PAKISTAN – Allama Amin Shaheedi, deputy secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (biggest religious-political Shia Party in Pakistan), has said that 160 Shia Muslims were martyred during one year and among them were 3 eminent scholars, 5 doctors, 5 engineers, 3 professors, 5 lawyers, 21 traders, 90 students and youths, and police officials.

“Shia genocide is not a sectarian issue but ferocious takfiri terrorists perpetrate this crime against humanity due to their intolerance of human values and to serve the illegitimate interests of their masters,” he said at a press conference here on Monday. Yaqub Hussaini, Maulana Ali Anwar Jafari, Ali Hussain Naqvi and Mubashir Hassan were also present.

He urged the civil society and political parties such as Pakistan Peoples Part, MQM, ANP, JUIF, and other parties should come forward and chalk out a joint course of action to ensure that takfiri terrorists are eliminated altogether.

“I repeat my demanded that Karachi be given under the control of army and North Waziristan Agency (NWA)-like operation must begin to eliminate the terrorists. “Since the government has completely failed to shoulder its responsibility, military should be called in to protect citizens against the terrorist attacks,” he said.

He urged the government either call in the military to eliminate the terrorists or quit accepting its failure in maintaining law and order in Karachi in particular. He said that some religious seminaries were turned into terrorist training centres. He said that Karachi’s district central became a sanctuary of political and militant Taliban.

Allama Shaheedi said that Shia notables and traders were being made targets because the terrorists saw government’s inaction as a green signal to them to continue Shia genocide. He said that Ali Akbar Kumaili was a Zakir-e-Ahl-e-Bait (AS) and his murder was tantamount to punishment for eulogizing the holy character of the infallible Imams of Islam from Ahl-e-Bait (AS).

“Karachi is backbone of Pakistan’s economy and aggravated law and order situation harms Pakistan very much. Government needs to adopt concrete and serious practical measures to ensure foolproof security, otherwise the terrorists will continue to challenge the writ of the State” he said.

MWM’s leader condoled with Allama Abbas Kumaili over the targeted murder of his son Ali Akbar Kumaili. He demanded immediate action to arrest the killers of Mr. Ali Akbar Kumaili. He demanded countrywide action against the takfiri terrorists by punishing them for all sorts of their activities from hate materials to provocative speeches and graffiti and for desecration of the sanctities of Shia Islam.
