Senior Lebanese official calls for further support of Iran

Deputy Head of the Islamic Shiite Supreme Council Sheikh Abdel Amir Kabalan has said that Lebanons security and stability require further supports coming from Iran.

In a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali, the Lebanese cleric appreciated Iran for voicing its continued support for the people and government of Lebanon as well as its resistance and army.

Lebanon needs friendly countries assistance, especially that of Iran, to establish stability and security, Sheikh Kabalan said.

He referred to Iran as a haven for all oppressed nations worldwide and a help for the Islamic and Arab Ummah to overcome threats and conspiracies facing them.

The senior cleric hoped that all Lebanese, political groups in particular, would restore stability to the country by prudence and vigilance.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Afif Nablosi, an eminent scholar in Saida City, thanked Iran for its arms donation to Lebanese army.

In a meeting with a delegation from Al-Murabitoun Movement, Sheikh Nablosi also hoped that the Lebanese army would be able to thwart the plots of Takfiri terrorist groups.

Last week, Secretary of Irans Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani who is also a representative to the Supreme Leader of the country had earlier announced during a visit to Lebanon that Tehran is ready for defensive cooperation with Lebanon and will help equip Lebanese armed forces with necessary weapons.

Commenting on the issue, Sheikh Nablosi underlined that the people of Lebanon would never forget regular aids of the Iranian nation, especially those which were offered in times of hardship.
